If you like wings that have a twist to them, HappyChickenzz in Old Town boasts some wings that you need to try. Rich with flavors and spices, the Old Town wing shack has generated a buzz throughout the pandemic.

This isn’t your regular wing shack. It has a Southeast Asian twist. Incredibly exotic food, the Thai sauce and the garlic soy create a shockwave to the inner sanctum of your taste buds. You’ll also want to get a sidekick to pair with the wings. And what’s a better combo than a side of fries? Fries are a crucial element in the American diet, and HappyChickenzz masters the simple dish by frying them to excellence. They also have some killer okra, if you’re a fan.

HappyChickenzz is housed in El Vado, where the atmosphere is filled with a vast variety of different wares in an outdoor food/vendor market. Speaking of El Vado, it is a pretty neat place. It used to be an old 1930s motel, and Albuquerque has developed the historic building into a modern food hall/hotel.

So if you’re looking to start your week off with some food featuring an Asian American and Pacific Islander spin, then roll on over. You’ll be in for a tangy, spicy and succulent good time. And always, if you’re a first-timer, the wings are always a good choice, but their Diablo Chicken Sandwich ($10.99) is fiery good.
