Eating healthy is a challenge, especially when we were locked up in a pandemic. It’s also hard to find a spot that can consistently maintain a healthy menu, but not at Poki Poki. A concept following a West Coast vibe, this cevicheria is one of my all-time favorites.

When you step inside it can be a little overwhelming. The process is much like Subway and Chiptole. You choose what type of fish, rice, topping and sauce you want to mix in your food order. I always prefer this method; you can see your food being made and get it just the way you want it. Fresh and tasty.

The possibilities are endless. They do offer a bunch of premade options, but what’s the fun in that? You can customize nachos, ceviche bowls and tacos—seriously, it’s infinite on what you can do at this place.

I always customize my order, but I have tried some premade dishes for, you know, research. Bowls like the seared ahi tuna and seared ceviche will light your mouth on fire, and the Tuna Wonton Nachos are best shared with friends. They definitely got the goods for any occasion.

Many citizens of Albuquerque were confused if Poki Poki was a local business when they opened doors back in 2016. It was a concept that I’ve never seen and was unique in its own form. However, the local establishment has popped up on everyone’s radars as they’ve developed a tasty menu. After hitting the five-year mark, they continue to grow.
