If you haven’t heard of El Pinto by now, then I feel sorry for you. It seems like everyone who has lived in Albuquerque for the past 25 years has made their way down to the heavyweight Mexican establishment. I even hear tourists talk about it. Heck, the “Salsa Twins” Jim and John Thomas even have a gallery of photos taken with celebrities in their lobby.

The majority of the time, I try to feature restaurants, eateries and breweries that have little to no recognition. But for the patio round-up, I have to honorably mention the titan that is El Pinto. Right when you arrive at the massive compound, you’ll notice that El Pinto wanted to provide their patrons with as much outdoor seating as available. And that’s the number one reason why I adore this place.

With a good tequila selection and a classic menu build-up of New Mexican favorites, El Pinto has been successful for so long. But the biggest factor that generates such a massive clientele for the restaurant is its famous “Yogaritas.” It’s been a while since I got to participate in the festivities, but this is such a cool event they put on. You do 45 minutes of yoga, while you drink their classic margaritas.

It’s a great place for the summertime. With great accessibility to sit out in the sun and a broad list of cocktails, El Pinto will be a summer destination for the city.
