We can’t talk about Albuquerque Italian restaurants without mentioning Trombino’s; it would be heresy. A traditional spot for lovers of Italian cuisine, Trombino’s has always been one place I recommend to tourists. It’s good, hearty, and they make a majority of their dishes from scratch. What’s better than that?

Trombino’s has been offering that rustic Italian vibe since 1979. Going strong for 42 years, they have consistently provided New Mexicans with high-quality cuisine.

Nothing pairs better than wine and pasta, and my go-to pasta selection when I’m at Trombino’s is their famous shrimp fra diavolo ($17.99). A classic that spices up the flavor, it’s a mouth-watering dish containing brandied shrimp tossed in a fire-roasted tomato sauce. It’s my number one recommendation.

Shrimp Fra Diavolo

Before you jump in feet first, you have to check out some of their selections of anipasti caldi, such as their mussels/clams zafferano ($15.99). It’s the perfect starting dish. A fresh, succulent taste of the sea, it will get you prepped for the rest to come. If you’re looking for more greens, it’s never a wrong choice to order the mozzarella Caprese ($9.99). A light option, it’s a bed of fresh basil, cheese, tomato with a healthy drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

The list goes on for Trombino’s menu. It’s one of those places that you need to head to because their food is just that good. And not only will you enjoy the food, but you’ll be attracted to your surroundings as well. Beautifully decored and with a two-bar system, Tromino’s ensures you’re for sure going to walk out a happy customer.
