For 50 years Albuquerque staple Caruso’s has been delivering some of the best, traditional Italian food you can find. Sure, you can head to some of the finer dining Italian spots, but what Caruso’s supplies in terms of hospitality is something they can’t beat.

Caruso’s is a quaint little hole-in-the-wall, and they draw on the old-fashioned, Italian-themed layout. The red brick walls and the checkered table clothes will remind you of a simpler time when the mob ruled the world. Some may find it tacky, but I appreciate a spot that doesn’t try to act like something they’re not. And the folks at Caruso’s definitely applied that to the menu as well.

Fettuccine Alfredo

Rich with Italian classics like their spaghetti ($9.60) and the fettuccine alfredo ($10.79), dishes so simple, yet bold with flavors and spices. Two of my all-time faves at Caruso’s, it’s always a juggle between which one I get. If I can’t decide, I get a half order of each!

Looking for pizza and subs? Look no further. Caruso’s has got some slammin’ slices. Pizzas freshly made with homemade sauce and cheese, it’s a stringy delicious mess that will have you coming back. Offering subs filled with freshly sliced deli meats and garnished to perfection, it’s a spot that delivers diversity.

I never have a bad time when I walk through their doors. Caruso’s staff always makes me feel at home. With a combination of good service and great food, it’s no wonder Caruso’s success has run for half a century. And don’t forget, after you’ve finished your plate, make sure to grab a cannoli on your way out to top off your visit on a sweet note.
