A staple sandwich stop in Albuquerque, Relish has been constructing some of the best subs on this side of the Mississipi for almost two decades. The sandwiches made in this deli always satisfy—and they have the following to prove it.
Fast food sub stops like Scholtzskys and Subway are easily accessible, but Relish kicks things up a notch, (plus they’re local). At Relish, you’ll want to explore their options. Every sub is special in its own way.
My first time at Relish I ordered their Tuna Sub ($10.75). You might think it’s basic—and it is—but Relish adds a dash of zest to the otherwise plain sub. Throwing on a helping of cumin lemon vinaigrette and lemon mixed mayo, it’s sensational to say at the least. Very rarely do sub shops get that experimental.
Each time you stop in, it’s worth switching gears and trying something new. While hitting every sandwich on the cold and hot side, it’s worth trying The Luau ($10.50). It might sound weird, pineapple on pizza, but on a sub? Ludacris. But the creativity of Relish and their imagination once again surprise. The juices of the pineapple mixed in with the smoked ham, provolone and chipotle mayo are so good! After some heavy hesitation, The Luau is an all-time favorite.
Relish’s items are a bit pricy when comparing other sub shops, but here you get what you pay for. They serve high-quality subs built with the best meats and cheeses.
