Let’s be honest, we’ve all indulged in a green beer or two, but have you had green sangria? If you haven’t had the pleasure, now is the time. It’s the perfect time to be exact, as St. Patty’s Day and March mark the season for green-infused alcohol, and Los Ranchos winery Casa Rondeña is the place to go for the week.

Head down to the sprawling Spanish hacienda-style vineyard, and instead of getting into the fighting spirit, sip on a bit o’ green smooth sangria served by the glass or by the pitcher.

Casa Rondeña always provides a cool atmosphere to the Albuquerque community with lovely selections of reds and whites. One of my tops spots for a glass, you’ll definitely catch me there for St. Patty’s.

The winery will be pouring drinks, but the food is served by delicious Pakistani/Indian food truck Tikka Spice. Let’s be honest: Wine with corned beef and cabbage doesn’t sound all that appealing anyway. There’s something about curry and red wine that soothes the soul, however. Let your tastebuds melt away into spicy food and drink, and dance a jig to the tunes of Liv Orovich and Char Rothschild, who will be performing some Irish-themed music for the evening.

It’s time to get festive, have a glass of wine, dance and drink into the evening. It’s an event you can’t miss. And hey, make sure to wear a mask!

If you only have one thing…

If the green sangria is a little to kitschy for you, we recommend the Syrah. Cheers to a delicious St. Patty’s Day!

If you can’t make it for the Irish sangria, stop by their tasting room any weekend, any day from 2 to 7pm and sample their new releases or any of your favorites.
