Weekend brunch is a luxury that should be enjoyed more often. Make your way to Nob Hill to spend a lazy Saturday morning with mimosas, food and friends. And coffee. Lots of it.

The Shop

The Shop is an all-time fave. Run by head chef and owner Israel Rivera, the menu puts a spin on culinary classics. The chilaquiles ($12.50) is a great dish, if you like a little chile in the morning. It features Rivera’s fresh-made red chile and queso fresco drizzled on top. They’ve got a few lighter dishes, but who’s counting calories on a Sunday?

The Farmacy

The Farmacy offers a range of all-American classics. Farmacy’s Duke City Biscuit and Gravy ($6.75) adds a little Burqueño twist. With a massive biscuit holding green chile, egg and cheese smothered with homemade gravy, it’s a heavy dish worth every bit of the food coma that comes afterward.

Cinnamon Sugar and Spice Cafe

Cinnamon Sugar and Spice Cafe opened up their Nob Hill location a few months before the pandemic. It’s been tough, but their rich, homemade pastries, like the Cin-fully Delicious French Toast ($8.00) has helped win them a loyal following. They make fresh ginger ale to wash down that sugary goodness.

frenchish

Sometimes, brunch calls for something a little lighter—although one might wonder if bacon and brie in a crepe is “lighter,” but we won’t tell. Try the spinach crêpe ($14) that makes you feel like you’re being good. It’s topped off with a drizzle of crème fraîche, so you’ll feel just a little French-ish.

Limonata Cafe

Tucked behind the hustle and bustle of Central Ave. is a sweet little row of shops and cafes on Silver Street. Limonata Cafe is one of those spots, and they have a damn good cup of coffee. Also, amazing fruit and homemade whipped cream topped-waffles for your sweet spot.
